Pajamas

My son has a pajama party at his preschool today.  He was so excited to be able to wear his Batman pajamas equipped with cape and matching slippers to school where his friends could admire them.  That got me thinking.  I know a lot of people love wearing their pajamas.  I remember one time Oprah said if she could wear her pajamas all day long, she would.  I've read on many author websites that one of the perks of working from home is working in your pajamas.

I like wearing pajamas, especially in the winter when they're warm and fuzzy, but here's the thing:  if I want to get anything done - whether it's writing or just work around the house - I need to be dressed. Now, it can be work out attire like stretch pants and a hoodie, but I simply can not keep my pjs on and be productive.  Often I like to put on a little make-up, brush my hair (even if it's the typical ponytail) and put on my shoes before I make it to my desk.  I guess I need to feel like I'm prepared on the outside so I can be prepared in my mind to work.  But really, is my mind ever ready?
