Ahh, Vacation

We returned yesterday from a nice stay at Amelia Island which is a small island off the coast of north Florida.  What is it about the ocean and sand that are so rejuvenating?  A few days before we left I had a talk with my agent about Book 2 and I was a little bummed about the impending revisions.  Apparently Book 2 needs a lot of them before we can even consider submitting. But after a few days of beachtime (I won't say relaxing because anyone who has taken a one year old and a five year old to the beach knows it's not relaxing) I was feeling so much better.  Renewed.  Excited.  Of course Book 2 needs revisions - look how many times I revised Lipstick Apology before it was accepted for publication.  I can do this.  (I hope.  - Ok that was a little neurosis peeking back in, but that's because I'm sitting at my computer instead of on the beach!!)

In other news I have a local cable TV interview today to promote Lipstick Apology.  I'm a little nervous about this.  There's something about video that's intimidating - it's kind of like when you hear a recording of your voice and it's like - really? that's how I sound?? I remember when I was in school and we had ourselves video taped for a project and all I kept noticing was first, how animated I was - like I was talking to a five year old instead of an adult.  (and let's face it, now that I actually have kids, I just know it'll be worse) and Second - I had this horrible habit where I repeated every question the interviewer asked.
Interviewer: "How old are you?"
Me: "How old am I? I'm ...."
Oh, it was so annoying.  I'm going to try really really hard not to do that today.  :)
